Director, Finance & Administration – Robert Armah

Robert has over two decades of experience in the banking and the financial services sector covering Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, Corporate Banking, General Management and Sales. He has held Leadership positions in several banks in Ghana where he has been involved in strategy formulation and execution, P&L management, people management, business development, policy development and implementation, as well as engaging board of directors. He has led, structured and executed several significant transactions in Agriculture, Power, Oil and Gas, Soft Commodities and International Syndications and has held Senior management roles in Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), ADB, Stanbic Bank Ghana, First Atlantic Bank and Heritage Bank. Robert has led and managed teams, structured and managed significant deals for customers across several sectors including Soft Commodities, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Construction, Project and Infrastructure Finance and Agriculture/Agribusiness. He also has sub-regional experience in Western Africa, marketing and structuring financing solutions for John Deere Financial customers across the region and leading in the roll out of Smallholder Financing in Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Nigeria, Mali and Senegal where he successfully negotiated trade finance facilities for John Deere dealers. Most recently Robert led the Corporate Banking business of Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG) as General Manager, Corporate Banking overseeing the Energy and Power, Mining and Construction, FMCG and Commodities and Services businesses. Earlier, he led the Energy and Telecoms Unit the bank, which he set up from scratch in April 2019 and made significant contributions to the Corporate Banking business before being appointed as General Manager. Robert is a Commonwealth Scholar and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Hertfordshire, UK and a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Education (Social Sciences) Degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He has Executive Education in Project and Infrastructure Finance from London Business School, UK and a Certificate in Advanced Credit Evaluation Course from Johannesburg School of Finance/Standard Bank South Africa. He has attended several industry conferences and training courses both in Ghana and internationally and is certified in Prosci Change Management processes.
